Admissions

Bachelor of Christian Studies Program

Normally a cohort (a group of usually five-ten students) begins together and goes through the entire program as a group to enhance community learning.  Most students choose to begin in the Fall which is when cohorts are usually created.  However, because our courses are sequential, students may enroll for courses and begin their bachelor’s at any point during the year and join an existing cohort.  Time of completion is two years from the date of entry into the program.

To apply to the bachelor’s program, please submit:

  • A completed application
  • A $50 non-refundable application fee
  • A four-page writing sample (TLC requires all students in degree programs to take a class on academic writing offered at the beginning of the program. Based on the submitted writing sample, some students may be able bypass this requirement.  Applicants for the bachelor program who do not have a writing sample will be required to take the writing class)
  • High school transcript

Master of Ministry Program

Students may enroll for classes every September (Fall) and January (Winter). To be considered for admission, all students will be required to hold a Bachelor of Arts/Science degree or its equivalent. Prospective students holding a Bachelor degree must submit an official transcript from an accredited college or university with their application to be considered for admission.

In certain cases admittance to the MMin can be granted on an equivalency basis. Each student will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If the applicant has enough course work and life experience to satisfy the registrar s/he will be invited to apply for the MMin. If the applicant lacks sufficient classes and/or life experience, s/he can make up the difference by taking college courses in another institution or by taking courses from our Bachelor of Christian Studies program.

In addition, students must:

   • Be an active member (involved in leadership or service) at their local church
   • Have proven Christian character at home, church and work
   • A recommendation from the over-seeing pastor
   • A passion for Christ, His church and His cause and a willingness to be used for His glory
To apply to the master’s program, please submit:

  • Submit brief (one-typed page each) statements of:
            1) Your understanding of what it means to be a Christian;
            2) How you became a Christian;
            3) Your understanding of the Lord's call to you for ministry

Certificate and/or Diploma of Christian Studies

As in the bachelor program, students may start the program at the beginning of any of our courses that are offered throughout the year.  Time of completion for the Certificate is one year from the point of entry and two years for the Diploma.
