Online Distance Learning Program

Trinity Learning Community is pleased to introduce our new online distance learning program for both the Bachelor of Christian Studies level programs and the Master of Ministry program.   Beginning with the 2008 Fall Term, we will be contracting with a sophisticated, but easy to use, virtual classroom service provided by Elluminate.  This service is used widely by major educational organizations including, for example, the California State University system and Duke University.  With this service, we are able maintain the dynamic interaction of an on-site classroom, online, with students who are otherwise unable to attend one of our on-site locations.

Our distance learning program is designed to deliver to our students the quality education our on-site students receive.  The major difference is that we deliver this education directly to your desktop, creating a highly interactive learning environment where you directly engage with the professor and with the other students who are part of your cohort.  Distance learning students make use of streaming media, web-based tools and interactive presentations to enhance their learning experience.   Other than this online medium, the distance learning program is structured similarly to our on-site programs.  Students attend classes at pre-arranged times, just as they would on-site.   Online classes are conducted real-time with the professor and students coming together from diverse geographical areas.  Theoretically, as a distance learning student, you could have students from Africa, Europe, South America and New York in the same classroom!

Just as with our on-site students, the distance student will be part of a cohort (a group of students who learn together).  Each cohort is assigned a professor who works with and mentors the cohort students through their entire program, not just one class.
Students do not need the latest computer technology or the fastest internet connection.  Elluminate is designed to work with a wide range of available technologies.  However, students will need access to a computer, internet service and email. Students in the degree programs will also need word processing software in order to turn in their written assignments.

We are confident that whether you choose our on-site or distance learning program, you will be embarking on an exciting adventure that will be challenging and life-changing.
